Sabatti Saphire ER: the long-range hunting rifle
The Sabatti SAPHIRE (Sabatti All Purpose Hunting Italian Rifle) is a soberly designed bolt-action hunting rifle with some astonishing features.
The Sabatti SAPHIRE ER (Extended Range) rifle was built to offer accuracy in hunting at above-average ranges without being as heavy as a long-range competition shooting rifle.
The rifle features Sabatti Saphire action – a departure from the Company’s traditional Rover action design. The smooth-running three locking lugs bolt is hosted inside a 7075-T6 alloy receiver that’s both lightweight and extremely resistant. A Picatinny rail is built-in on the receiver for easy optics installation.
The cold-hammer forged barrel features Sabatti MRR multi-radial rifling pattern, for excellent accuracy and long service life.
The muzzle is threaded and covered by a removable thread protector, allowing for the installation of the shooter’s choice of muzzle devices.
Barrel interchangeability is one of the main features of the Sabatti Saphire rifle: barrels can be purchased separately, in different calibers, and swapped by a good armorer with a few simple tools. Replacement of the magazine and bolt head may be necessary when shifting from the factory caliber to another.
The Thumbhole-style stock is manufactured out of fiberglass-reinforced polymer to offer top-notch rigidity and vibration absorption while remaining lightweight. Features of the stock include an adjustable cheek riser and a generous rubber buttpad, capable of dampening even the harsh recoil of Magnum calibers, that can be supplemented with a set of factory-issued inserts to extend the length of pull.
