    Buying a Firearm

    Can I buy a firearm through your website?

    Every shotgun and rifle, new or second hand, on the ardeesports.com website, is available for purchase. We update our stock levels daily, and remove from our website any firearm that is currently out of stock.
    If you see it on our website then it is available to buy.

    How do I pay for my gun?

    Once you have decided on which firearm you want to buy, you can contact us via email or telephone to discuss trade-ins, deposits, or finance terms.
    Alternatively, you can proceed to the checkout and enter your payment details as normal.

    Can I trade in my old gun?

    We are happy to accept your old gun as a trade-in against firearms purchased through our website. Any potential trade-in must be brought to our premises at Pepperstown, Ardee, Co. Louth, so that our gunsmith can give an accurate valuation.

    How do I apply for my licence?

    When you have picked out your new firearm, and sorted out your payment details, we will send you the relevant documents needed to apply for your licence. Once you receive these documents, it is then your responsibility to apply to your local Garda station for your firearms licence.

    What if my licence has been refused?

    Where a licence application has been refused, all deposits will be refunded, less a €15 administration fee. The reason for the refusal must be documented on page 8 of the original FCA1 application form.

    Will you post my new gun to me?

    Unfortunately we are unable to post out any firearms purchased through our online store. All firearms must be collected by the licence holder from our shop in Pepperstown, Ardee, Co. Louth. You must also provide your firearms licence and a valid photo ID (passport or drivers licence accepted).

    Buying Ammunition

    How do I purchase ammunition from your website?

    To buy ammunition from our website, simply add the item to your cart and proceed through the checkout process as normal. Before we send out your order, we will contact you to submit your gun licence and a valid photo ID. Once the your details have been provided, your order will be processed as normal.

    How do I provide you with my licence details?

    You can scan both sides of your licence and email it to info@ardeesports.com. A photo of both sides will also be accepted.

    How much can I buy?

    You cannot buy more than is displayed on your licence.

    Payment and Delivery?

    We can only deliver your order to the address shown on the relevant licence. Your billing address must also match the address on your gun licence.

    What do you do with my licence details?

    We do not save any images of your gun licence or your photo ID. Once the order has been processed, your images are deleted.

    Deliveries & Returns

    What are your postage costs?

    The standard delivery charge for Ireland is €9.50 and for the UK it is €25.00. Orders over €100 will be delivered free of charge.

    How long will delivery take?

    We can offer next day delivery to most regions of Ireland.
    For UK customers it takes 2 to 3 days, depending on which area of the UK you are resident in.

    How do I return an item?

    All orders sent out by Ardee Sports will have a Returns Form included, with full instructions on how to send your parcel back to us. If you don’t have your Return Form then you can contact us by phone or email, or you can find out more here.

    My parcel hasn’t arrived, what should I do?

    If your order hasn’t arrived after 2 days (3 days for UK customers) then please get in touch.


    What payment methods are accepted?

    We accept all major credit and debit cards on our website.

    Can I pay over the phone?

    If you prefer, we can accept your credit/debit card details over the phone.


    What products qualify for finance?

    We offer finance on all guns that we sell through our website, and from our retail outlet.

    What documentation will I need to apply?

    In order to process your application we will need a recent bank statement and your PPS number. We will also require photo ID which you can present when you sign the application.

    Can I apply online or over the phone?

    In order to finalise the finance application, you must present to us your gun licence and your photo ID at our premises in Pepperstown, Ardee, Co. Louth. You must also sign the application form in person. You can however email the relevant documents (bank statement, etc…) ahead of time so we can have things in place before you arrive. The application form must be signed before you can collect your purchase.

    Gift Vouchers

    Can I buy vouchers or gift vouchers for ardeesports.com?

    We offer gift vouchers for sale in a range of values. You can purchase them through our website here.
    Gift vouchers are also available from our shop in Pepperstown.

    How do I use the gift vouchers?

    Each gift voucher contains a unique voucher code. You can then apply this code as you make your purchase on ardeesports.com.

    Can I use the voucher in the Ardee Sports shop?

    You can also use your Ardee Sports gift voucher in our shop. 

    I lost my voucher code, is there a way I can recover it?

    If you have lost your voucher code then you can send us an email and we can reissue the original voucher code.
    We can only send the voucher code to the original purchaser of the voucher.


    How do I know which size to order?

    You can view our sizing guide here. Please note that all sizes are approximate.

    What if I ordered the incorrect size?

    If your order doesn’t fit as expected, you can return it to Ardee Sports for a refund or a replacement.

    Faulty Goods

    What happens if I have a problem?

    If your product develops a fault while still under the manufacturer’s warranty, you should first contact us with details of the fault. You can use our contact form here, or email us at info@ardeesports.com. We can then give you instructions on how to send the item back to us, so that we can either repair or replace the item.
